Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. Some are essential for a site to work; others are used for advertising or measurement. This page explains exactly what this website uses — it's a short list.

Cookies that are always active (no consent needed)

Two first-party, strictly functional cookies:

Language preference. Set only if you use the EN/ES language switch, so the site remembers your choice. Kept for one year.

Administration session. Used only by Cuento de Luz staff to log in to the site's editing area. It is never set for visitors.

Neither is used to track you.

If — and only if — you accept them in our cookie banner:

Ad attribution (cdl_paid, ours, 24 hours). Remembers whether you arrived here from one of our Google ads, so we can tell whether those ads help our books find readers. It doesn't identify you or follow your browsing.

Google Ads measurement. Google's cookies measure whether someone who saw one of our ads later visited a book page. Conversion measurement, nothing more.

If you decline, none of these are set and the site works exactly the same.

What we don't use

No analytics cookies, no social media cookies, no advertising profiles, no data selling, no third-party tracking beyond the Google Ads measurement described above — and that only with your consent.

Third-party services

Book trailers are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load if you press play; until then, no connection to YouTube is made. Links to bookshops (Amazon, Barnes & Noble and others) lead to external websites with their own cookie policies, which apply once you visit them. Some links to Amazon are affiliate links, identified in the notice in our footer.

Your choice, any time

You can change or withdraw your consent whenever you like via the cookie icon in the corner of any page, and you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the language cookie simply means the site won't remember your language choice.
