Carmen
Awarded at the 2022 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards.
The novella by Prosper Mérimée that Georges Bizet transformed into an opera is presented here in a new version inspired by the choreography of Johan Inger for the Spanish National Dance Company. The wild, free heart of a different kind of Carmen beats in the pages of this book, a Carmen who is gradually revealed to us through the innocent gaze of the little boy who tells her story.
“Carmen is the most beautiful girl I know, and when I grow up, I’m going to marry her, even though she doesn’t know it yet.”

Praise
Everything is easier with Concha Pasamar's artwork, whose characteristic misty, captivating line conveys the emotions beneath one of the great love stories that brought glory to opera.
