Zuriñe Aguirre

She spent his entire childhood on the island of La Palma. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of La Laguna, he began his career in 2002 and has since illustrated over thirty publications, including titles such as Mujeres Canarias (Canary Islands Women), Soy un dinosaurio (I Am a Dinosaur), El niño que no sabía jugar al fútbol (The Boy Who Didn't Know How to Play Football), Calima, and El rey que bordaba estrellas (The King Who Embroidered Stars). She has also collaborated with various advertising agencies, creating posters and campaigns for the different Canary Islands. She has illustrated and written his own books, La Bajada de la Virgen de las Nieves (The Descent of the Virgin of the Snows) and Los Indianos (The Indianos), where she reminisces about his childhood on the island of La Palma. Her exhibitions explore diverse settings: a sophisticated and refined society that exaggerates its gestures, where any everyday activity becomes something elaborate and extravagant. Her work is created using traditional techniques such as gouache, watercolor, colored pencils, and collage. In 2010 he received a special award in the Canary Islands Authors category, recognizing his personal style, professionalism and sense of humor at the 5th International Illustrated Album Competition of the Insular Library of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
