Pilar López Ávila
Pilar López Ávila was born in Cartagena in 1969, but has lived in Cáceres since she was three years old. She has a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Extremadura, and is currently teaching as a professor of Biology and Geology at the IES "Norba Caesarina" in Cáceres, Spain. In December 2010, she received the third prize "Joaquín Sama" for Educational Innovation in the category "A more civic and solidary school", for the project entitled "Exploitation of waste materials".

Paula Merlán
The award-winning author Paula Merlán was born in Vigo (Pontevedra) in Spain. After graduating in Law, she pursued her vocation as an educator, graduating as a teacher. The lessons at university promoting reading, encouraged her to start writing stories.

Concha Pasamar
Words and illustrations have always been part of award winning Concha Pasamar's life. For a few years, illustration has been added to her dedication to teaching and research of the Spanish language, which sometimes also takes her along the path of writing.
